Daripada Ma'qal bin Yasser berkata bahawa Rasulullah s.a.w. bersabda:
"Hati Al-Quran ialah Surah Yasin; tidaklah dibaca oleh seseorang surah
tersebut yang semata-mata mengharapkan keredhaan Allah s.w.t dan hari
akhirat melainkan diampunkan oleh Allah s.w.t dosanya; dan bacalah
Surah Yasin kepada orang yang hampir akan meninggal dunia dan setelah
seseorang itu meninggal dunia." (HR Ahmad, Abu Daud dan An-Nasaai)
